This position is in our Early Head Start/Home-Based program which is designed to provide high-quality child and family development services to low-income pregnant women and families with infants and toddlers through 3 years of age.

  • Oversee a caseload of 10-12 families including weekly 90 minute home visits
  • Implement curriculum for child development during home visits and during playgroup socialization experiences
  • Assist with recruitment, eligibility determination and intake assessments
  • Facilitate group socialization experiences and other family group activities
  • Conduct ongoing screenings and assessments of maternal health and child development goals
  • Assist with the implementation of Parents and Teachers Foundational Training and Model Implementation
  • Collaborate with families to establish family development goals
  • Provide education and support services as well as crisis intervention and resource referral
  • Document home visits, socialization experiences and other activities and reporting on outcomes as needed
  • Monitor and educate parents with regard to children’s health status including medical follow-ups, physical health, dental health and nutrition.

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Social Services or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred) with 2+ year’s relevant experience.

 Must have 1) knowledge of Early Childhood Education and developmentally appropriate practices for infants and toddlers as well as experience with individualized and group lesson planning, 2) ability to work with diverse population including low income, 3) willingness to work primarily in homes of low-income families, 4) strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, 5) knowledge of community resources, 6) computer skills including MS Office, and 7) ability to work outside normally scheduled hours. 

 Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
