FAMILY SUPPORT COORDINATOR


 


TEAM, Inc., a non-profit social service agency serving in 12 communities including the Valley (Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour, & Shelton), Milford, Waterbury, and Naugatuck has the following opportunity in its Head Start Early Childhood program located in Waterbury:


 


Responsibilities


 


Staffing – Supervise (including interviewing, hiring, training and evaluating) Family Support Specialists. Conduct regular staff meetings.  Assist with the development and implementation of staff training and development plans.


Family Support/Case Management – Oversee the development of family partnerships.  Provide expertise and advice regarding social services and case management.  Implement and oversee tracking system for social services referral follow-up.  Coordinate family workgroup meetings.


Recruitment and Eligibility – Implement and oversee all eligibility, recruitment, selection and enrollment procedures.  Review social service records for appropriate documentation.  Maintain updated waiting list for services.


Parent Involvement – Oversee all parent involvement efforts including the planning and implementation of family and fatherhood events.  Schedule parent committee meetings.


Reporting – Track volunteer hours to meet requirements for in-kind budget.  Oversee all data entry and reporting (School Readiness, Child day Care, monthly reports) to ensure timeliness and accuracy.


Other – Assist in the development and updating of appropriate component plans in compliance with federal performance standards.


 


Qualifications


 


Education:  BSW or BA in related field.


Experience:  3+ years of experience working with parents or community organization, supervisory and Head Start experience preferred, previous case management experience.


Skills:  Self-motivated, team player, strong organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to identify with Agency mission, solid computer skills.  Bilingual a plus.


Personal Characteristics:  Ability to function within guidelines of Agency’s core values, identification with Agency mission.
